I primarily paint landscapes, although my art work also includes marine, portrait, figure, interiors and still life. I paint with oil, on panel or canvas. My aim is to create distinctive images that use the painterly qualities of paint, combined with the realist qualities of form, space and light. After many years studying at art college and university I took part in exhibitions in the UK and Canada. I have also worked as a university researcher and arts manager in local government. I live in Northumberland in the Northeast of England in the UK.
